Google’s September 2022 product reviews update has now been fully launched. This update was specifically aimed at English-language product reviews.
The rollout took six days, starting on September 20 and completing on September 26.
This finalizes a series of Google algorithm updates that began with the helpful content update (August 25 to September 9), continued with the September 2022 core update (September 12 to 26), and concluded with the fifth version of the product reviews update.
Rollout complete. According to Google’s search ranking update page, “The rollout was complete as of September 26, 2022.”
Google’s July 2022 product reviews update also took six days to complete.
There has been considerable discussion within the SEO community regarding the September product review update. Barry Schwartz covered these discussions in-depth.
About Google’s product review updates. These algorithm updates are designed to reward high-quality product reviews that offer insightful analysis and original research. Google aims to promote these types of reviews in its search results rankings.

Why we care. Keeping up with Google’s numerous algorithm updates is crucial. This situation is somewhat unique because Google rolled out overlapping updates this month – both product reviews and a core update.
